Although Gomez appeared absent
in some games during this
series, without his standout
effort in Games 5 and 6, the
Devils probably would not be
moving on. The pivot helped New
Jersey regain momentum in the
series by setting up all three
goals in Game 5, then helped the
Devils clinch by playing a role
in two of the team's three goals
in Game 6. Overall, Gomez led
New Jersey with nine points in
the series. He was also stellar
in the faceoff circle, winning
53 percent of his draws and won
14-of-18 in the defensive zone. |
