Series MVP

Lidstrom

Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit
Lidstrom wasn't perfect against Joe Thornton and didn't post the numbers he did against the Flames. But the Red Wings captain was a workhorse, and he only got better as the series went on. Over the final three games, Lidstrom held Thornton to just one assist and recorded at least 29 minutes of ice time in each contest. In Game 5, Lidstrom skated 36 minutes, the combination of his usual workload and filling in for Mathieu Schneider, who left the game with a broken wrist. He also kept the Red Wings from losing momentum in Game 6 when he made a diving save on Mike Grier's wraparound attempt to preserve Dominik Hasek's shutout.

Game 6: Dominik Hasek records his first shutout of this postseason.
